The Buckingham No. 3 - Where timeless craft meets everyday comfort
Crafted in the 21st century using techniques passed down through generations, the Simplex tea kettle by Newey & Bloomer is more than a kitchen essential - it’s a celebration of British tradition. Every detail, from the coiled base designed for gas stoves (ensuring a fast, efficient boil), to the whistle, (ingeniously hidden in the lid), is lovingly handmade by our skilled artisans in Birmingham, England.
Each kettle takes over a month to complete, and it shows in the care, quality, and character of every piece. The mirror-finished chrome exterior brings a sleek, modern shine to a design that dates back to 1903. Look for the stamp “Made in England” on the base - a proud mark of our heritage.
When the water’s ready, you’ll hear the distinctive Simplex whistle - a charming signal that it’s time to pause, pour, and enjoy the simple joy of a perfectly brewed cup of tea.
The Buckingham No. 3 is easy to maintain and sure to shine in any kitchen.
Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery, as each kettle is handcrafted to order.

Do:
- Keep water level just below the centre seam
- Hand wash only and dry with a soft cloth
- Clean chrome kettles with a wet soapy cloth and polish with a dry cloth to bring back its shine
- Use filtered water, particularly in hard water areas
- Empty any left over water after boiling and wipe the inside dry to prevent calcium (limescale) build up
-
Copper is an exceptional material in the kitchen and, when maintained properly, should give you many years of service
Do Not:
- Have the flame so high that it engulfs the coil and run up the side of the kettle
- Leave water in the kettle overnight
- Put your kettle in a dishwasher
- Let the Simplex tea kettle boil dry
- Clean with any acidic cleaning agents
- Scrub with steel wool or abrasive cleaning cloths/brushes or pads as this can lead to irreparable damage
